Nothing but adoration of the Duchess, but come on, Royal Family! Having Kate and Prince William landing on those hospital stairs, mere hours after welcoming their third child, has produced a large frenzy on my Facebook feed. Each of the mamas?I do know (myself included) look like they’re simultaneously applauding and shaking their heads.
Duchess Kate looks flawless, in a very pretty red dress and suede heels. Wanna know very well what shoes I wore during the last trimester of my first pregnancy and our trip home? Crocs. Because nothing else would fit my swollen feet. With my second delivery, I’m happy enough to trade up for flip-flops.
THIS is the thing that 7 hours, post baby, really seems like. Puffy. Tired. Thankful. That's me, hooked into an IV in, accompanied by my exhausted-yet-proud husband and new dad. And our two, beautiful daughters, 2 1 / 2 years apart.? Hey, at least my nails were painted for that first!
I understand it, the Duke and Duchess are usually endeavoring to beat the paparazzi in their own game. Rather then having a photographer rappelling on the hospital roof, they can bring in a?'glam team' and give a primary portrait with all the new addition.
But in real life, there's a lot attention being paid to feeding, resting, bonding and healing, for a lot of involved. That's the hard-working mom, her spouse/partner/support circle and of course that newborn four legged friend. Let alone if clearly there was a complication. That's why?Serena Williams' post delivery story hits home for thus many.
So, let's flaunt our very un-polished post delivery portraits. Wear that drab hospital gown or robe with pride, since you had 'bigger stuff' to concern yourself after welcoming your newest additions.

It's funny, the further you get into this parenting thing, the less concerned you then become with whether you felt the need makeup on, or whether that birthing playlist you’ve made even got used. It's about the result, baby.
