TRENTON – Honoring Wednesday being National Blood Donation Day the American Red Cross has scheduled a series of blood drives across the state this week.
Blood and platelet donations are important for patients that has a range of medical ailments, including accident and burn victims, surgical patients the ones receiving care for cancer are only a couple of the people that take advantage of blood donations.
"Giving blood is a marvellous method to serve your area and help patients simultaneously," said Alana Mauger, communications manager to your Red Cross Penn Jersey Blood Services region. "While using Red Cross dealing with a critically low blood supply during most of the summer months, will be the perfect time to give."
To discover more about donating blood and that is a feasible donor explore the Red Cross website or call 1-800-RED-CROSS. Many people who were not eligible previously may perhaps be viable now, in line with Mauger.

Those eager to donate must bring blood donor card or driver's license or two other designs of identification into the donation site. Donors need to be 17-years-old in many states, or 16 in states where parental consent is allowed. Donors also needs to be not less than 110 pounds and generally in good health.
